Senate Republican Leader Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) appointed State Senator Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) to the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability (CGFA) to replace State Senator Pamela Althoff.
“I’d like to thank Leader Brady for offering me this opportunity to be on the front-line of the conversation about the state of our economy and fiscal health. The information provided by CGFA provides critical insight that will help guide Illinois on a path to be a highly competitive and prosperous state once again,” said Tracy. “There are a number of crucial, economic issues requiring our attention, like unemployment, state debt and the need for more business-friendly reforms—all of which I will be able to focus on as a member of the Commission.”
CGFA provides the State Legislature with research and information regarding state and national economies, revenue projections and operations of Illinois Government, and it’s responsible for monitoring the state’s long-term debt position and administration of the State Employee Group Insurance Program. Legislative members are charged with approving vendor contracts and vendor renewals and administration of the State Facility Closure Act.
Tracy’s appointment is effective immediately, and she will serve on the Commission alongside 11 state legislators, including her colleague State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford).
