102nd General Assembly signals new opportunities to address challenges (with video)

Senator Jil Tracy says the convening of the 102nd General Assembly signals new opportunities to address the challenges facing Illinois.

The 47th District Senator participated in inaugural ceremonies in the Senate Chambers January 13. She has served in the Senate since November 2016, and previously served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2006 to 2014.

It’s an honor to serve 47th District residents, whether it is helping them with their concerns on an individual basis or advocating for them as a whole during legislative decision-making in the Capitol,” Senator Tracy said. “I have been asked to serve in a leadership role as Senate Republican Whip, and will bring our region’s commonsense and real-life insight to the discussion about issues that affect us all as Illinois citizens.”

As part of the inaugural ceremonies, Senator Tracy stood up to second the nomination of Senator Dan McConchie of Hawthorn Woods to lead the Senate, applauding his integrity and dedication to good government, and his ability to work across the aisle and advance a forward-looking, balanced and fair legislative agenda.

Senator Tracy says fiscal responsibility, strong education systems, bipartisan pension reform and common-sense economic growth initiatives are opportunities that will help boost jobs and restore prosperity to Illinois communities.

The 47th District includes all of Adams, Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Schuyler, Brown, Mason, Cass and Warren counties, as well as parts of Knox and Fulton counties. Senator Tracy’s district legislative offices are located at 3701 East Lake Centre Dr., Suite 3, Quincy, IL  62305 (217-223-0833); and 331 N. Lafayette St., Macomb, IL  61455 (217-214-9705).
