SPRINGFIELD – State Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) is encouraging constituents to submit a tribute and photo of loved ones who served their country in the military, to be displayed on the annual Veterans Day “Wall of Honor” in the Illinois Capitol.
“This is a great opportunity to further honor our veterans and spotlight the sacrifices they made for our country,” Tracy said. “The Wall of Honor showcases their service and shares their stories with those who visit our Capitol.”
The Senate Republicans have been hosting the annual Veterans Day tribute since 2017. This year’s Wall of Honor will be on display from Nov. 11 through Nov. 20.
Families who would like to participate should submit the following to be displayed on the annual Wall of Honor: photos and written stories (max: 250 words), name, military branch (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard, Navy) and conflict served (Afghanistan, Iraq, September 11, Gulf War, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, WWI, Peacetime, other). Military photos are preferred but not necessary.
If possible, please e-mail submissions to email@example.com by Nov. 11. Submissions will be accepted through Nov. 20, and the display will be updated daily to include new entries.
