SPRINGFIELD – State Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) participated in the inaugural ceremonies of the Illinois Senate as the 104th General Assembly convened Jan. 8 in the State Capitol Building.
Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Kay O’Brien administered the oath of office to newly elected Senators. Sen. Tracy has served in the Senate since Jan. 11, 2015, and previously served as a member of the House of Representatives from July 2006 to 2014.
“Illinois faces significant challenges, but I remain committed to moving our state forward. My top priorities are reduced spending, more efficient use of taxpayer dollars, and creating an environment that is more jobs friendly. We also need to do more to keep our communities safe,” Sen. Tracy said. “I will continue to reach across the aisle, and work with area legislators to speak as a single voice on behalf of Western Illinois in the Capitol.”
The 50th Senate District includes all or part of Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Morgan, Pike, Schuyler, and Scott counties.
