Senator Jil Tracy talked about action taken by the Illinois General Assembly during the Spring session to a crowd of about 40 people at the Carthage Chamber of Commerce Legislative Luncheon July 10.

“The Chamber Luncheon gives me an opportunity to talk with residents about state and local governments, and hear what they think about legislative and municipal issues,” Tracy said. “I appreciate people taking time from their busy days to come to the luncheon and talk with me about your ideas and concerns.”

Among those attending the Chamber Luncheon at the Carthage Senior Citizens Center were approximately 20 economic development and chamber members from the region. Topics discussed include recreational marijuana, gas tax, capital projects bill, budget, minimum wage, infrastructure, the 2nd Amendment, and abortion.

Immediately after the luncheon, Senator Tracy hosted her annual ID Theft and Consumer Fraud Prevention Program at Hancock Village in Carthage, with more than 60 people attending. The program provides information to help residents learn to protect themselves against fraud and scams.
