State Senator Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) says the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced that Carman Road between Asher Street in Lomax and Township Road 400N in Henderson County will close Nov. 3.

IDOT states that the closure is necessary for BNSF Railway to make repairs to its railroad crossing. A detour will be posted during the work, which is expected to last about two days.

IDOT notes that motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
