Following her re-appointment as Minority Whip, State Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) expanded her leadership to serving on seven Senate committees, including Agriculture, Judiciary, Labor, State Government, Committee of the Whole, Executive Appointments, and Telecommunications and Information Technology which she will head as the Minority Spokesman for another consecutive year.  

“I’m honored Leader Bill Brady has appointed me as his Minority Whip and a member of seven important Senate committees, which will allow me to steer crucial conversations and initiatives toward bettering the 47^th District and the state,” said Tracy. “In Labor Committee, I’m extremely focused on implementing long-awaited workers comp reform to incentivize businesses to stay in Illinois and passing measures to spur economic development and create jobs. As always, in State Government, it’s with great urgency we prioritize the need for a streamlined government. That means increasing efficiency and decreasing unnecessary spending and duplicative costs to save taxpayer dollars and help pay down the state deficit.”

Tracy has begun meeting with her Senate committees and encourages an open dialogue, bipartisanship and optimism amongst all members to best act on legislative action and key issues.

As the state senator for the 47^th District, she represents all of Adams, Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Schuyler, Brown, Mason, Cass and Warren counties, as well as parts of Knox and Fulton counties.
