Help thank police in local communities

REMINDER: Cards are due May 15!

QUINCY – State Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) is asking 47th District residents to join with her to express appreciation and respect for local police officers in honor of National Police Week, May 9-15.

Tracy is encouraging community members, churches, schools, and other groups to participate in her Appreciation for Your Dedication card drive, by sending cards to her district offices in Quincy or Macomb. Once the cards have been collected, they will be delivered to police in communities across the 47th District.

“Please join us to express appreciation and respect for our local police officers, who are an integral part of our communities. We are asking the community to please mail or drop off cards, handwritten notes, encouraging and uplifting stories, drawings, etc., by May 15 to our Quincy or Macomb offices,” Tracy said. “My staff and I will be personally delivering your creations to police officers throughout the 47th District to thank them for all they do to keep our communities safe.”

Cards will be accepted through May 15. Participants will have the option to either mail their cards to, or drop them off at, Sen. Tracy’s district offices at 3701 East Lake Centre Drive, Suite 3, Quincy, IL  62305; or 331 N. Lafayette Street, Macomb, IL  61455. For those choosing in-person delivery, please follow social distancing and masks guidelines when entering the offices.

Contact Helen Mayfield at hmayfield@adams.net for more information, or to indicate interest in participating.
